THE M.C. WEEKS, INC. STORY

1946

Home of M.C. Weeks Venetian Blinds - First Venetian blind factory - Graterford, PA

1950

M.C. Weeks Venetian Blinds 20,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art manufacturing facility opened in 1950. Additional plants opened in Reading, Allentown, York, and Wilmington, DE making the company the largest manufacturer of custom blinds in the Mid-Atlantic region and provided many jobs to the local communities.

1952

The company expands manufacturing to include the new modern aluminum Weeks Vertical Blind. The company also manufactured custom aluminum window awnings, patio awnings, roll-up awnings, storm windows and doors, jalousie windows and doors.

1955

Malcolm C. Weeks and his staff each receive a gold medal award from Wisco Aluminum Corp., Detroit, MI for unmatched and outstanding sales volume in Mid-Atlantic region.

1959

The company acquires manufacturing facility for the production of hand died and hand braided wool area rugs. The new M.C. Weeks, Inc. exclusive brand name Yorktowne Rugs, Inc. was unmatched in quality, authenticity and design by any other manufacturer of braided rugs.

1960

M.C. Weeks, Inc. Venetian Blind Installation - Gateway 4, Pittsburgh, PA. A total of 3,600 blinds were installed

1962

Modern showroom building was constructed to showcase the company's signature hand braided rug collection, Yorktowne Rugs, Inc. Additional rug lines were incorporated to include hand knotted Persian Orientals, colonial hand hooked wool rugs and the Magee Carpet broadloom lines.

1981

Nancy Weeks, second generation takes ownership of the company

1989

To complement the core merchandise of the company showrooms, second generation owners Nancy and Boris selected unique hand-crafted reproduction fine furniture lines from 12 renown furniture craftsmen throughout the United States. 

1997

New Showrooms are relocated to an 18th century colonial house in the historic village of Trappe. This building provides a fashionable setting for our window fashions and newly added furniture lines.

2002

Natalie Weeks Dudchenko, third generation, joins the company to manage the expansion

2002

M.C. Weeks, Inc., becomes the first exclusive Hunter Douglas Window Fashions Gallery in PA.

2006

M.C. Weeks, Inc. achieves the Hunter Douglas "Centurion Club" status which allowed them to provide exclusive products and promotions.

2012

Grand opening celebration of the newly expanded Hunter Douglas showrooms and custom fabric furnishings.

2016

Natalie Weeks Dudchenko, granddaughter of Malcolm C. Weeks is continuing the business into its third generation.
